# LCP Optimisation Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) measures how long the main content of a page takes to appear: usually the hero image, a large heading or a video poster. Google's Core Web Vitals treat an LCP of 2.5 seconds or less as good, measured at the 75th percentile of real page loads. Most fixes are well understood, but teams often apply random tips (minify CSS, add a plugin) without finding which part of LCP is actually slow. This skill diagnoses and fixes LCP using the four LCP subparts described on web.dev: time to first byte (TTFB), resource load delay, resource load duration and element render delay.
