Background watching via the CC Monitor tool. Starts subprocesses that stream events as conversation notifications — zero token cost when quiet. Supports declared config watches (auto-registered on session start) and ad-hoc operator-invoked watches.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
Record notes only inside an open record's turn, using `task-note` (Commands) with arguments `<id>` with the note on stdin. Otherwise skip record notes. Never edit a task file directly.
# Watch
Run background event watchers using the CC Monitor tool. Each stdout line from
the subprocess becomes a conversation notification. Silence costs zero tokens.
Two classes:
- **Stream:** Source pushes events (`tail -f`, WebSocket, fswatch). Truly event-driven.
- **Poll:** Script checks on interval, emits only on change. Same polling model, less noise.

- `proposal-resolve-id`: `bun ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/proposal.ts resolve-id .hermit`
- `task-block`: `bun ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/task.ts block .hermit`
- `task-note`: `bun ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/task.ts note .hermit`

How to install
mdr add gtapps/claude-code-hermit/watch@sha256:9aec75ea1129ee76The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261016.2e8f3e2, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
