# Astro Practitioner reference for building sites and apps with the Astro framework. Activate whenever the change touches a `.astro` file, an `astro.config.mjs`, a content collection schema, an Astro integration, or any project that lists `astro` in its `package.json`. Astro's defining trait is the **server-first** rendering model with opt-in client islands. Treat every page as HTML by default; reach for JavaScript only where the interaction model requires it. How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
