Use when a task needs source-derived New Zealand active-fault features, ArcGIS layer metadata, latest modelled shaking contours, or versioned GeoNet ShakingLayers event files and contour GeoJSON. Provides read-only GNS Science and GeoNet discovery, count, ID, paging, metadata, and spatial-query primitives without authentication.

Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. # GNS Hazards NZ

## Goal

Query GNS Science's ArcGIS hazard layers and GeoNet's versioned ShakingLayers
archive through a deterministic, read-only, standard-library CLI.

## Use this when

- A task needs NZ active fault traces, recurrence intervals, slip rates,
  fault avoidance zones, or fault awareness areas as GeoJSON
- A task needs the ArcGIS latest modelled shaking view, or a specific event and
  published ShakingLayers version with explicit units and provenance
- A task needs source metadata, a count/ID query, paging, or geometry controls

## Do not use this for

- General earthquake catalogues, felt reports, or volcano alerts (use `geonet-nz`)
- Regional council hazard overlays such as liquefaction or tsunami zones
  (use `wcc-arcgis-nz` for the Wellington region)
- Any write, upload, or account action

How to install

The exact contents, by fingerprint

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260726.922f030, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved.
