Runtime tool management with tool_manage and tools.toml format. Create, enable, disable, reload tools without restart. (/dynamic-tools, tool_manage, runtime tools).
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Dynamic Tools Reference Runtime tool creation — define tools in `~/.opencrabs/tools.toml` and they become callable immediately without restart or rebuild. ## tool_manage Meta-Tool | Action | Required | What | |--------|----------|------| | `list` | — | Show all dynamic tools with enabled/disabled status | | `add` | `name`, `description`, `executor`, `method`/`command` | Create new tool (persists to tools.toml) | | `remove` | `name` | Delete a tool | | `enable` / `disable` | `name` | Toggle without removing | | `reload` | — | Hot-reload from tools.toml | ## Executor Types Two executor types, set via the `executor` field: | Executor | Field | |----------|-------| | `executor = "shell"` | `command` — shell command string | | `executor = "http"` | `method`, `url` — HTTP method and endpoint | ## Parameter Handling Every tool parameter defined in `[[tools.params]]` becomes available in two ways: 1. **`$OPENCRABS_PARAMS`** — Environment variable pointing to a temporary JSON file containing **all** params with their current values. The file is created before the command runs and cleaned up after. Use with `--params-file` flags or read directly inside scripts: ```toml …

How to install
mdr add opencrabs/opencrabs/dynamic-tools@sha256:0dbd42b1e29869a6The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260613.0bb4b03, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
