Write and keep docs/VERIFY.md, the project's feature map with the exact steps and test data that prove each user-facing feature works. Use at project setup, when a new user-facing area appears, or when QA or a witness finds the map wrong. The architect owns it; QA, witnesses and the bug review board follow it.

Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

What the file says

# Verification guide

`docs/VERIFY.md` answers one question for an agent that has never seen the app: how do I prove this feature works the
way a user sees it? Write it for that reader, who reads it cold in the middle of a task.

## When

- At project setup, before the first wave is dispatched.
- When a slice adds a user-facing area (a new page, flow, command or API a client calls). The architect updates the
map in the same wave, before its W witness slice runs.
- When QA, the bug review board or a witness finds a step that no longer matches the app. They send the lead a queue
row. The architect fixes the map.

## Find the answers in the repo

Ask the owner only what the repo can't tell you.

- **Surface:** what a user touches (web UI, CLI, API, mobile). Name the primary one and list the others.
- **Run:** the repo's own dev or preview command, the port, the env it needs, and the seed data. Use the deployed URL
when the project deploys on merge.
- **Drive:** the tool that exercises it: the Playwright MCP browser for web, a shell for a CLI, `curl` for an API.
  Network and console listings go to a file in the seat's scratch dir (`filename`), then `agent-net-summary <file>`;

How to install

The exact contents, by fingerprint
mdr add korallis/agent-stack/verification-guide@sha256:a9e59485ab74246d

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261001.2c55b3b, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
