Turn a video file someone already has (an MP4, a Loom download, a long call or screen recording) into Jams (shareable jam.dev recordings with a transcript), one per issue, cut where the speaker moves to a new problem, each titled and filed in a folder. Use when the user says "upload these to jam", "turn this recording into jams", "split this video by bug", "make these jams instead of mp4s", or has a recording too long for one Jam.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# video-to-jam One video in, one Jam per issue out, plus a table of clip, time range and link. A 40-minute call where someone walks through ten bugs becomes ten short Jams that each say one thing. These Jams carry the video and its transcript only. A video file has no console or network capture; say so rather than implying it. ## Set up the CLI ```bash command -v jam >/dev/null || echo "jam is not installed" export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH" jam auth status --json || jam auth login ``` If `jam` is not on PATH, stop and ask the user to install it from https://jam.dev/cli, then continue. Do not install it yourself. Exit code 3 means not signed in. With no browser (CI, a cloud agent), ask the user to set `JAM_TOKEN` to a personal access token from https://jam.dev/s/settings/mcp as a secret. Never write a token to a file. `jam agent-context` prints every command and flag. Also check `ffmpeg` and `ffprobe` are on PATH. If not, ask the user to install them. ## 1. How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
