Comprehensive toolkit for generating best-practice Terragrunt configurations (HCL files) following current standards and conventions. Generates terragrunt.hcl files, root configurations, child modules, stacks, and environment setups; configures remote state backends, dependency blocks, include blocks, feature flags, exclude blocks, and errors blocks; supports DRY Terraform patterns, multi-environment layouts (dev/staging/prod), and OpenTofu engine integration. Use when creating new Terragrunt…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Terragrunt Generator ## Philosophy - Choose the architecture pattern (A, B or C) before writing any file, because every later path depends on it. - Keep `root.hcl` environment-agnostic unless the pattern explicitly says otherwise; child modules read `env.hcl`. - Define shared configuration once in the root and inherit it, rather than copying it into each unit. - Generate from the bundled templates and `references/common-patterns.md` instead of writing HCL from memory. - A configuration is not finished until it has passed validation with `terragrunt-validator`. ## When to Use - Creating a new `root.hcl`, child module, standalone module, stack or catalog unit. - Scaffolding a multi-environment layout (dev, staging, prod) with shared remote state. - Configuring dependency blocks with mock outputs, feature flags, exclude blocks or errors blocks. - Setting up remote state and provider configuration through `generate` blocks. - Migrating generated configuration to current syntax such as `run --all`, `exclude` and `errors`. ## When Not to Use - Validating or debugging existing Terragrunt files: use the `terragrunt-validator` skill instead. …

How to install
mdr add pantheon-org/tekhne/terragrunt-generator@sha256:c6b1b90986aa2a57The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261001.6ed2a6a, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
