Comprehensive toolkit for validating, linting, testing, and automating Terragrunt configurations, HCL files, and Stacks. Use this skill when working with Terragrunt files (.hcl, terragrunt.hcl, terragrunt.stack.hcl), validating infrastructure-as-code, debugging Terragrunt configurations, performing dry-run testing with terragrunt plan, working with Terragrunt Stacks, or working with custom providers and modules.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Terragrunt Validator ## Philosophy - Validate the whole dependency graph, not one unit: a unit that passes alone can still fail against its dependencies. - Read the best practices reference before judging a configuration, so every finding is measured against a stated standard. - Treat custom providers and modules as unknowns until their documentation, at the exact version in use, has been read. - Prefer the Terragrunt 0.93+ CLI (`run --all`, `hcl fmt`, `dag graph`) and strict mode so deprecated syntax is caught early. - Report each checklist item as pass or fail, because an unverified item is not a pass. ## When to Use - Validating `terragrunt.hcl`, `root.hcl`, `env.hcl` or `terragrunt.stack.hcl` files before a plan or apply. - Debugging Terragrunt configuration errors such as dependency, include or `generate` block failures. - Running format, lint (tflint), security (Trivy or Checkov) and dry-run plan checks in one pass with `scripts/validate_terragrunt.sh`. - Reviewing a configuration against the best practices checklists for includes, dependencies, security and DRY. …

How to install
mdr add pantheon-org/tekhne/terragrunt-validator@sha256:0daa2cce16c49f34The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261001.6ed2a6a, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
