# CLAUDE.md Guidance for Claude Code when working with this repository. **Luxar** is a high-performance system for compiling and visualizing arbitrary-sized nD scientific scenes. It renders four first-class geometry types — **Points**, **Lines**, **Gaussian Splats**, and **Mesh** (triangle surfaces). Mesh is the newest and the only *shaded* one — the other three are purely emissive — via a light-free view-anchored offset key, and it is now feature-complete at the UI level: picking (at VERTEX granularity, keyed on `gl_VertexID` rather than an element-texture texel), the Layers-panel appearance controls, monitor/stats/debug counts. The docs pass is done and real WebGPU is verified pixel-equivalent to WebGL (see `docs/specs/MESH_NODE_SPEC.md` §11 and the CHANGELOG A/B notes). The contract still names the writable and drawable sets separately — `geometry_types` and `loader_types` — because a type becomes authorable before it becomes drawable; they simply agree on all four today. ## Issue / PR Coordination Before starting work for a numbered issue, run `hatch run python scripts/check_open_issue_pr.py <issue-number>`. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
