This file is byte-identical to the first copy the registry indexed. Same content hash, so the same checks give both the same grade.
ha-snapshot-restore from gtapps/claude-code-hermit is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.

Capture the state of a set of Home Assistant entities (lights, covers, climate, switches) to a named artifact and restore it later via scene.apply. Use to make automation testing reversible — snapshot before a risky change, restore if it misbehaves. Restore of sensitive entities is gated by ha_safety_mode.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# HA Snapshot / Restore
## Purpose
Make changes reversible: capture an entity set's current state before testing a new automation or applying a risky change, then restore those exact states if it misbehaves. Capture is read-only; restore actuates devices in one `scene.apply` call.
## Capture (read-only)
```
${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/ha-agent-lab ha snapshot-states --name <label> [--domains light,cover,climate,switch] [--entities <id> ...]
```
- `--name` labels the snapshot (default `snapshot`); it becomes part of the artifact filename.
- `--domains` selects which domains to capture (comma-separated; default `light,cover,climate,switch`).
- `--entities` captures an explicit list instead of whole domains.
- Writes `.hermit/raw/snapshot-ha-states-<label>-latest.json` (plus a timestamped copy). Only restore-relevant attributes are stored.
## Restore (actuation — gated)
```
${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/ha-agent-lab ha restore-states <artifact>
```
Restore is the plugin's one direct device-actuation path, so it runs through the same `ha_safety_mode` policy as every other actuation:

How to install
mdr add gtapps/claude-code-hermit/ha-snapshot-restore@sha256:7776f0e40bde0550The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261017.b5deacb, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
