python-csv-generation SKILL.md skillA
python-csv-generation from cxcscmu/skilllearnbench is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add cxcscmu/skilllearnbench/python-csv-generation@git:20260424.d50cf5aPins git:20260424.d50cf5a in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Generate structured CSV files from Python data using the csv module for tabular data export.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Python CSV Generation
## Overview
The Python `csv` module provides functionality to read and write CSV (Comma-Separated Values) files. CSV is a standard format for tabular data that's widely compatible with spreadsheet applications.
## Installation
Built-in to Python, no installation needed.
## Basic Usage
### Writing CSV with DictWriter (Recommended)
```python
import csv
# Data to write
data = [
{'frame_id': '/root/keyframes_001.png', 'coins': 5, 'enemies': 2, 'turtles': 1},
{'frame_id': '/root/keyframes_002.png', 'coins': 3, 'enemies': 1, 'turtles': 0},
{'frame_id': '/root/keyframes_003.png', 'coins': 7, 'enemies': 3, 'turtles': 2},
]
# Write to CSV file
with open('output.csv', 'w', newline='') as csvfile:
fieldnames = ['frame_id', 'coins', 'enemies', 'turtles']
writer = csv.DictWriter(csvfile, fieldnames=fieldnames)
# Write header row
writer.writeheader()
# Write data rows
writer.writerows(data)
```
### Writing CSV with writer (Simple approach)
```python
import csv
with open('output.csv', 'w', newline='') as csvfile:
writer = csv.writer(csvfile)
# Write header
…Read the whole file at its exact version.
How to install
mdr add cxcscmu/skilllearnbench/python-csv-generation@sha256:bd5bcadf11604bf6The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260424.d50cf5a, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
