# Codex Review Use the external `codex` CLI as a second-opinion reviewer for `pi-go`. This skill is for read-only review and findings, not code editing. The only intended output is `./specs/issues/002-code-review-codex/PROMPT.md`. ## CLI constraint: `--uncommitted`/`--base`/`--commit` vs `[PROMPT]` These flags are **mutually exclusive** with a positional prompt argument. ### Verified behavior in `codex-cli 0.117.0` In this version, passing `-` as a positional prompt still counts as `[PROMPT]` and fails with exit code 2 when combined with `--uncommitted`, `--base`, or `--commit`. This means the previously documented pattern below does **not** work on `codex-cli 0.117.0`: ```bash codex exec -s read-only review --uncommitted -m gpt-5.4 -o file.md - <<'EOF' Your instructions here EOF ``` Observed error: ```text error: the argument '--uncommitted' cannot be used with '[PROMPT]' ``` ### Working pattern in `codex-cli 0.117.0` If you need custom instructions alongside one of these flags, pipe stdin **without** any positional prompt argument: ```bash cat <<'EOF' | codex exec -s read-only review --uncommitted -m gpt-5.4 -o file.md Your instructions here EOF ``` …

How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
