How Explainer Studio commits and pull requests are written, covering branches, Conventional Commits subjects, sign-offs, the changelog, and pull request titles and descriptions. Use before committing, pushing a branch, or opening or merging a pull request in this repository.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Commits and pull requests A pull request is squash-merged: one change becomes one commit on `main`. Its subject is the pull request title, and its body is the messages of the pull request's commits (the repository's squash settings). Write both as if they will be read by someone who never saw the conversation. The `check-pull-request-conventions` workflow checks the title, the changelog entry and the sign-offs. ## Branches - Work on a branch from `main` and commit locally as you go. - Push only when the branch is ready for review: squash the work-in-progress commits into the ones a reviewer should read (usually one, whose message is the one `main` should get), and run the commands in `AGENTS.md` first. - Nothing private enters the repository, in code, commit messages or pull requests: names of people, private materials, users' feedback, local paths. ## Commit messages - **Subject:** [Conventional Commits](https://www.conventionalcommits.org/en/v1.0.0/), `<type>: <sentence>`, no scope. The sentence is English in the imperative (it completes "this commit will ..."), starts lowercase, has no trailing …

How to install
mdr add heptameta/heptabase-explainer-studio/commit-and-pull-request-convention@sha256:bbd4d3f0ff5b9d9cThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261020.33db214, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
