Use when predicting a column from rows of tabular features with classic models — scikit-learn pipelines, RandomForest, XGBoost/LightGBM, leak-free cross-validation, metrics for imbalanced classes, or a model that aced CV then collapsed in production. NOT PyTorch neural nets (that is `deep-learning`), NOT cleaning the dirty table first (that is `data-cleaning`), NOT forecasting a dated series (that is `forecasting`), NOT text/token modeling (that is `nlp`).
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Machine learning — classic/tabular models, done without lying to yourself Tabular ML is easy to *run* and easy to *fool yourself with*. The deliverable is never "the notebook printed 0.99" — it is an **honest estimate of how the model behaves on data it has never seen**: a `Pipeline` that fits every transform on train only, a metric that survives class imbalance, and a `DummyClassifier` baseline it beats. How to install
mdr add ericrisco/rsc-harness/machine-learning@sha256:30d0ff166a699db0The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260729.f0c377f, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
