Full GitHub CLI control — issues, PRs, code reviews, repo management. Uses gh CLI with auth detection, rate limiting, and templates. Triggers on: github, issue, pull request, PR, code review, repo, branch, label, assignee, milestone, release, workflow, actions.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. # GitHub Skill
Full GitHub operations via the `gh` CLI. Always check auth first, use templates for consistency, and respect rate limits.
## Step 0: Auth Detection (ALWAYS FIRST)
Before ANY GitHub operation, detect the auth method:

gh auth status 2>&1
```
**If authenticated:** Proceed. Note the logged-in username for the session.
**If not authenticated:** Check for `GITHUB_TOKEN` env var:
```bash
echo "${GITHUB_TOKEN:+token_set}"
```
**If no token either:** Tell the user:
> GitHub CLI is not authenticated. Run `gh auth login` to authenticate, or set `GITHUB_TOKEN` environment variable with a personal access token.
Do NOT proceed without auth. Do NOT fall back to `curl` or `http_request`.
## Step 1: Rate Limit Check (before bulk operations)
Before operations that issue 5+ API calls (batch triage, bulk label, multi-issue create), check rate limits:

```
If core remaining < 100 or search remaining < 10, warn the user and ask whether to proceed.

How to install
mdr add adolfousier/opencrabs/github@sha256:16b44c290eef84eeThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260721.3692cf8, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
