# tui ## Local profiling at launch The developer shipment and bundled client carry `tom` for their launch-time reader of `[daemon] profile`. The shell launcher consumes that setting from the selected catalogue before booting the client VM; enabled launches use a named loopback node and an owner-only, exit-cleaned cookie. This reads only the typed profiling setting, while the daemon keeps whole-catalogue validation. No profiler sampling or call tracing starts merely because a client is named. ## Sparse frame canvas `render.repaint_canvas` starts every frame with the buffer's sparse empty-cell default. The alternate repaint phase writes only the first column's dim blank markers, matching the previous one-character bulk fill exactly. Later painting still starts from a blank frame. The existing padding and detail-collapse tests cover styled cells and vacated rows; the full-frame benchmark in `scripts/tui_perf.erl` compares cells, links, continuation markers and cursor across a six-agent scroll sequence. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
