# Networking and Outreach ## What this is The other half of the job search. `job-application-assistant` answers "which roles are worth applying to and what documents do they need". This answers "which people are worth talking to and what should be said to them". They are one pipeline, not two. The same employer, the same profile, the same tracker. `tools/company_key.py` is the join: a contact at "Acme Corp" and an application to "Acme Inc." resolve to the same key (`acme`), so a referral thread and an application record find each other automatically. An initialism and the full name (the contact's profile says "ABC", the application says "Acme Bank of Commerce") join only through the person's `COMPANY_ALIASES` in `profile/employers.py`. **The highest-value output is judgment, not volume.** Twenty mediocre names is a failure. Every message spends a scarce platform slot and a piece of the user's reputation, and both are harder to get back than they are to spend. ## The modules Deterministic logic lives in `tools/network/`, so it is testable and costs no model tokens.
