Use this to find out whether an existing dbt project or semantic layer (dbt, Ossie, SLayer or Cube) is correct against its warehouse, and if not, why. `maintain verify` checks the project as it stands; against a .dex/ snapshot, `maintain check` finds schema, volume, grain, and semantic drift and `maintain reconcile` proposes the fix. Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. # Maintain Keep the repository correct as the world underneath it moves, on both of its axes: the dbt project and the semantic layer. Drift is measured against a **baseline**, the `.dex/snapshot.json` fingerprint of the warehouse map and of each project layer. Detection is read-only; only `reconcile` proposes edits, and `transform apply` is the one door that writes them. <!-- dex:procedure:begin --> ## Procedure Dex works in one loop: explore, transform, maintain. `dex <command>` below is the `dex` CLI; where it is not installed, run the same command through the skill's `scripts/run.py` wrapper. Each command prints one JSON envelope: read it and decide the next step from it. Step 1 only reads. mdr add exmergo/dex/maintain@sha256:2a5956d0f0d46c9bThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261102.6bd9785, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
