Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. # Transform Author and refactor the dbt project, both the SQL (staging to marts, tests, docs) and the semantic layer on top. You write the file content; the engine validates it, computes the diffs, and stores a plan. Nothing reaches the project until `transform apply`, and any build runs against a dev target only. <!-- dex:procedure:begin --> ## Procedure dex works in one loop: explore, transform, maintain. Every step runs one engine command, reads the single JSON envelope it prints, and decides the next step from that envelope. 1. **Explore before you write.** Before writing or fixing SQL against a table whose columns, types, grain, or join keys you have not verified in this session, run `explore map` (or `explore profile <tables>` for a few named ones) and read its grain, keys, PII flags, and data-quality findings. Answer ad-hoc questions with `explore query`, never with a raw database client. 2. **Plan the change.** Author the file content and hand it to `transform plan` (or `semantic define|update|plan` for the semantic layer). How to install
mdr add exmergo/dex/transform@sha256:d9f48a181b9c2ce6The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261019.afd1dcf, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
