Publish a skill or agent to a registry, or release a new version of one. Use when asked to publish, share, contribute or release a skill or agent, update one that is already in a registry, publish a project's skills from CI, or fix what registry validation reports.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Publish to a registry A released version is never edited: every change is a new version. Pass `--json` to the CLI and read `data`. Pick the path by where the user is working: - **Outside the registry's repository**, with a skill in some folder: contribute it. - **A project whose skills should reach a registry on every change**: publish from CI. - **Inside the registry's repository**: add or version it there, then release. ## Contribute from any folder `aireg status --json` lists, in `data.unmanaged`, the skills in this project's harness folders that aireg does not manage; `aireg status -g --json` lists the user's own. Read one before publishing it: ```sh aireg show ./<path> --json ``` A skill is a folder holding `SKILL.md`; an agent is one `.md` file. aireg doesn't publish to a git registry: it writes the new version into a clone, and git carries it from there. For a registry in a git repository, the usual case: ```sh git clone <repository> ../<clone> # a clone already there: switch to its default branch and pull ls ../<clone>/artifacts # the namespaces in use; a new registry has none yet git -C ../<clone> switch -c publish-<name> …

How to install
mdr add atlanai/ai-registry/aireg-publish@sha256:dc679ae48f837efcThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261013.e19fb90, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
