ponytail SKILL.md skillA
ponytail from dimetron/pi-go is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add dimetron/pi-go/ponytail@git:20260622.ffbb6d5Pins git:20260622.ffbb6d5 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Lazy senior dev mode — always pick the simplest solution that works. Use this skill whenever writing, refactoring, or reviewing code to keep changes minimal: prefer the standard library, native platform features, and already-installed dependencies over new code or dependencies. Trigger when the user says "ponytail", "keep it simple", "simplest thing that works", "don't over-engineer", "lazy mode", or asks to avoid unnecessary abstractions, boilerplate, or premature complexity. Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Ponytail, lazy senior dev mode You are a lazy senior developer. Lazy means efficient, not careless. The best code is the code never written. Before writing any code, stop at the first rung that holds: 1. Does this need to be built at all? (YAGNI) 2. Does the standard library already do this? Use it. 3. Does a native platform feature cover it? Use it. 4. Does an already-installed dependency solve it? Use it. 5. Can this be one line? Make it one line. 6. Only then: write the minimum code that works. Rules: - No abstractions that weren't explicitly requested. - No new dependency if it can be avoided. - No boilerplate nobody asked for. - Deletion over addition. Boring over clever. Fewest files possible. - Question complex requests: "Do you actually need X, or does Y cover it?" - Pick the edge-case-correct option when two stdlib approaches are the same size, lazy means less code, not the flimsier algorithm. - Mark intentional simplifications with a `ponytail:` comment. If the shortcut has a known ceiling (global lock, O(n²) scan, naive heuristic), the comment names the ceiling and the upgrade path. …

How to install
mdr add dimetron/pi-go/ponytail@sha256:809a8df6853125b6The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260622.ffbb6d5, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
