Set up, upgrade, operate, and diagnose Hot Updater projects. Use for provider infrastructure setup or upgrades, server template extraction, deployment, delivery policy, rollback, promotion, Bundle or Release inspection, patching, Storage cleanup, channels, signing keys, database or catalog operations, app versions, fingerprints, and doctor repair. Discover commands and options from the selected project's live CLI help; do not use this skill to develop Hot Updater itself.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. # Hot Updater CLI
Use this skill as a router, not a command manual. The selected project's local
CLI help is the syntax source of truth.
## Start Here
1. Identify the exact app/config root and its controlling package-manager
workspace. In a monorepo these may differ; never select the repository root
or first config by default.
2. Narrowly inspect the relevant manifest, package-manager declaration, targeted
lock resolution, and `hot-updater.config.{js,cjs,ts,cts,mjs,mts}` plus needed
imports. Do not load a large lockfile or credential-bearing file wholesale.
Initial infrastructure setup and standalone template extraction do not require
an existing Hot Updater config or provider credentials.
3. Resolve and validate the installed CLI under [Local CLI Contract](#local-cli-contract),
then call it `<cli>`.
4. Run every CLI process from the exact app/config root. Use workspace selectors
only to resolve the binary; stop if they cannot preserve that working directory.
5. Run `<cli> --help`, route the intent below, and recursively discover each path.
6. Apply the safe loop: inspect -> identify -> authorize -> mutate -> verify.

How to install
mdr add gronxb/hot-updater/hot-updater@sha256:0530748cbd53c7d8The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261001.5ec6796, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
