Parallel research with synthesis and independent claim validation. Use for multi-source research questions, answers that need current external evidence, comparing tools or approaches, and questions that span the codebase and the web. Not for single-fact lookups. Invoked as /k-spectre <research question> or from k-mode.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# K-spectre Decompose the question into facets, run parallel researchers, synthesize, then independently validate every key claim before reporting. ## 1. Scope Classify the question into one tier: | Tier | Criteria | Researchers | |---|---|---| | XS | Single focused question, narrow scope | 2 | | S | One topic, one or two angles | 3 | | M | Multi-facet topic, several angles | 4 | | L | Competing approaches, many stakeholders, cross-domain | 6 | | XL | Research project spanning domains, past and current and future | 8 | Signals: words like "landscape", "comprehensive", "compare all" push toward L/XL. More distinct angles, more domains, or a past-to-future span push up. A single narrow question is XS or S. Detect the context: web-only, codebase-only, or both. Mentions of this project, file paths, or symbol names mean the codebase is in play. ## 2. Facets Write the facets yourself: disjoint, each phrased as a question, together covering the topic. For XL you may dispatch one `design` worker with `templates/facet-decomposition-prompt.md` to draft the list. You still own the final facets. …

How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
