# tools ## Shell directory selection `working_directory.Door` reads and writes the authenticated caller's shell default. `bash.tool_with_directory` accepts `cwd` and captures one canonical directory after invocation permissions, passing it separately to foreground `CallSpec` and to both `Jobs.start` and `Jobs.attend`. The workspace remains the native file/LSP base and policy authority. `working_directory` reports cwd, workspace and the actual `TMPDIR`; its setter has `Never` replay because a relative selection cannot safely be repeated after a committed update. On-demand `cap://` function surfaces retain runnable examples and indentation; the cached type-only surface excludes them. Finite LSP plans can infer their owner from explicit sources and advertise the actual SQL column names. ## LSP observer callback ownership The retired top-level LSP constructors are removed. `lsp.diagnostics_observer` projects only `Door.after_write` before retaining its callback; the full `lsp/query.Door` remains with callers that need all eight operations, such as code mode. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved.
