Specify the backend behavior of an event-sourced Cratis application slice — plain-call specs for pure decisions, plus CommandScenario, EventScenario, ReadModelScenario and ReactorScenario where the pipeline, validation, constraints or projections matter — including what to cover for each slice type and where the specification files live. Use when adding or changing backend behavior in an application built on Cratis. Do not use for framework library specifications and do not use for frontend…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Cratis application slice specifications Start a pure decision with a plain method call: `Handle()`, `Handle(providedValue)`, reducer logic or a reactor's decision needs no host, services or harness. Add a scenario where the pipeline, validation, authorization, constraints or projections contribute proof. The scenario family exercises the real Arc and Chronicle code paths in-process — no HTTP, no fixture, no server. This skill decides **when to add a scenario** and **what to cover**. The C# mechanics (`Establish`/`Because`, substitutes, contexts) live in `cratis-specifications-csharp`. ## Verified product sources | Package | Version | Purpose | | --- | --- | --- | | `Cratis.Arc.Testing` | `22.75.0` | `CommandScenario<TCommand>` and the `CommandResult` assertions | | `Cratis.Arc.Chronicle.Testing` | `22.75.0` | `Given`, `EventLog`, `AppendedEvents` and the appended-event assertions on a command scenario | | `Cratis.Chronicle.Testing` | `18.3.0` | `EventScenario`, `ReadModelScenario<T>`, `ReactorScenario<T>` | | `Cratis.Specifications.XUnit` | `4.x` | The `Specification` base and the `ShouldXxx` assertions | …

How to install
mdr add cratis/ai/cratis-application-slice-specifications@sha256:891d6ab78c715b99The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261013.ad33eca, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
