Deciding how much of a system may depend on its framework, and pricing that dependency honestly: which couplings are cheap and correct, which are expensive and reversible, which require staged redesign, and what "framework-independent" actually costs in mapping code. Use when a framework or major version upgrade is being planned or has stalled, when a domain class carries persistence or serialisation annotations, when someone proposes a framework-free domain and the price is not stated, when a…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Framework Coupling and Independence ## Purpose Decide deliberately which parts of a system are allowed to know about the framework, and pay attention to asymmetric incentives: your system may depend on the framework for years, while the project promises only its documented compatibility and support policy. Maintainers can change programming models, rename packages, deprecate abstractions and end support on their release cycle. That asymmetry is an argument for placing the coupling deliberately — **not** an argument for avoiding frameworks or for wrapping every one of them. A codebase with an abstraction layer over Spring may duplicate its API without hiding the lifecycle or behavioral contracts that make replacement expensive. A small application-owned port can still isolate a useful boundary. The two failures this exists to prevent: the framework's programming model soaked into the business rules, so an upgrade is a rewrite and a rule cannot be read without knowing the container; and the defensive over-abstraction that buys portability nobody will use, at the price of a mapping layer everybody pays for on every change. ## Workflow …

How to install
mdr add robsonkades/agent-skills/framework-coupling-and-independence@sha256:b80dc1afddbe8f77The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260927.9ecadfd, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
