User-invoked session handoff. `/session-summary pause` writes a structured resume file capturing what the session was doing, what changed, what was decided, and what is unfinished, folding any summary already there into a shorter form above it. `/session-summary resume` reads that file back and reports it as a few bullets, without starting any work it names. Invoked explicitly by name only. Never write or read the resume file on your own initiative, and never at the end of an ordinary task.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# session-summary **Carry a work stream across restarts. `pause` writes the handoff; `resume` reads it back.** This skill is explicit-invoke only. A session ending, a task finishing, or a context window filling up are not triggers on their own. ## Invocation ``` /session-summary pause # write the handoff /session-summary resume # read it back and report it ``` An invocation with no argument, or an unrecognized one, is a request to say which of the two was meant rather than to guess. Writing a handoff when the user wanted to read one destroys the file they were asking for. ## The file ``` .agents/session-resume/resume.md ``` One file, holding the current session at the top and the sessions before it, compressed, below. Create the directories if they are missing. `.agents/` is already excluded from git in a project `claudex apply` has been run in, so the file never reaches a commit. Outside such a project, write it anyway and say in one line that the path is not excluded, so the user can decide before it shows up in `git status`. ## pause ### The budget …

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
