# codemode
## Purpose
Code mode: a model writes a *program*, not a tool call, and the program
runs once in a disposable jailed BEAM whose only reachable effect is one
capability channel back to the broker. This package is the whole harness
side of that — vet, compile, launch, host — and it never runs
model-influenced code itself (Rule Zero). WP-J, and WP-N for the
orchestration seam.
There are **four seams over one pipeline**, and a submission is vetted
against exactly one of them (`vet/policy.Seam`). Three of them admit
source that runs today; the fourth is frozen for a tier that does not
exist. The *workspace* seam is
`cap/{fs, proc, net, git, report, task, actor, kv, schedule, job,
search}` — plus `cap/lsp`, admitted per host only where the session has a
language-server door (below) — routed by
`satellite.default_router` for the jailed `proc.run`, by
`codemode/workspace` for the harness-side `fs.read`, `fs.list` and
`kv.*`, and by `codemode/search` for the four read-only `search.*` names.

`codemode/workspace` because the module a program imports is the unit of

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
