Turn a document Oleafly imported from Word, Markdown, or PDF into a project that compiles cleanly and reads like it was written here. Use after any import, or when a project is full of pandoc leftovers, longtable wrappers, hypertarget blocks, a Typst conf template, broken math, or citations that arrived as plain text.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Import refine
An imported project is a machine's guess at the original. It usually compiles, or almost
compiles, and it carries a specific set of scars depending on which importer made it. This
skill removes the scars in an order that keeps the document building the whole way.
Two rules hold throughout:
- **Compile after every change.** One edit, one `compile`. When a change breaks the build,
you know exactly which one.
- **Never delete content you cannot explain.** If something looks wrong but you do not know
what it was, it goes in `import/notes.md`, not in the bin.
## 1. Work out what you are looking at
`list_files` and `read_file` on the main document's preamble tell you the source:

How to install
mdr add oleafly/oleafly/Import refine@sha256:88db4ba2244401a0The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.1.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
