Draws flowcharts, sequence and state diagrams, and architecture or data-flow pictures, in Mermaid where the page renders it and ASCII elsewhere. Use when asked to "draw a diagram of this flow" or "add a sequence diagram", when about to draw any diagram, or when another skill asks for one. For charts of data (bar, line, pie), use a charting skill instead.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Flow diagram A diagram works when the reader can tell each node's role from its shape before reading its label, and can follow the flow in one direction without backtracking. Three conventions get there: a shape per role, a color per role, and layout discipline. Apply all three; they reinforce each other. ## 1. Project settings On every invocation, read `.claude/shipyard/flow-diagram.md` in the project root if it exists. It describes this project: where its diagrams are read, whether its markdown is read rendered, its renderer's limits, and any palette, size, or width overrides; its shape is in [references/overlay-example.md](references/overlay-example.md). Its settings win over the defaults below. Without it, use the defaults as written. ## 2. How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
