# web_client ## Purpose The browser half of the web view: Lustre client components, written in Gleam and compiled to JavaScript, registered as custom elements that the server component (`packages/web_view`) renders like any other tag. The server component holds every piece of session state and is the only thing that talks to the session (protocol-change/051); this package holds only behaviour that changes with nothing the server knows, so the server never renders again just for it: - `<loom-elapsed offset="<ms>">` counts an operation's elapsed time once a second, on from a duration the server measured. With `remaining="<ms>"` it counts the time left down instead (`duration.remaining`: whole minutes rounded up, then seconds), which the admin page's `ends in 14m` pill uses; whichever attribute arrived last sets the direction. With `since="<unix ms>"` it counts up from a start the records give (`duration.since_offset`, never negative), which a tool call still running uses (`Running · 1m 12s`); that count trusts the browser's clock to agree with the daemon's. - `<loom-switcher>` is the session switcher Command or Control and K opens …

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
