archetype-authoring SKILL.md skillA
archetype-authoring from cadasto/openehr-assistant-plugin is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add cadasto/openehr-assistant-plugin/archetype-authoring@git:20260730.772d2a7Pins git:20260730.772d2a7 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

This skill should be used when the user asks to "create", "edit", "specialize", "review / remediate", "write the rationale for", "translate / localise", or "fix the ADL syntax of" an openEHR archetype (including "this archetype won't parse / won't validate"), or to import a CKM archetype into the workspace for reuse. It covers the full author → review (lint → fix → re-lint) → rationale → translate lifecycle. To merely explain an existing archetype with no edits, use `/openehr-explain` instead.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Archetype Authoring
## Conflict Resolution
When guides conflict, apply this priority (highest first):
1. Rules and structural constraints
2. Syntax specifications
3. Anti-patterns
4. Principles and examples
5. Convenience
## Step 1: Load Guides (MANDATORY)
Before any archetype work, load the authoritative guides:
```
guide_get("openehr://guides/archetypes/principles")
guide_get("openehr://guides/archetypes/rules")
guide_get("openehr://guides/archetypes/adl-syntax")
```
Load additional guides as needed:
- `guide_get("openehr://guides/archetypes/structural-constraints")` — for cardinality, occurrences, existence rules
- `guide_get("openehr://guides/archetypes/terminology")` — for terminology binding patterns
- `guide_get("openehr://guides/archetypes/anti-patterns")` — to avoid common mistakes
- `guide_get("openehr://guides/archetypes/reference-formatting")` — for ADL formatting conventions
## Step 2: Research Before Creating
Before creating a new archetype, ALWAYS search CKM first:
```
ckm_archetype_search("<concept>")
```
…Read the whole file at its exact version.
How to install
mdr add cadasto/openehr-assistant-plugin/archetype-authoring@sha256:d22f2846ba4e29d1The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260730.772d2a7, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
