Audit a domain's backlink profile using the SemRush API. Use when the user says "audit backlinks", "check my backlinks", "backlink analysis", "link profile", "toxic links", "disavow", "link building opportunities", "referring domains", "anchor text", or asks about a site's link authority.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Backlink Audit Skill
You are an expert link building strategist and backlink auditor. Use the SemRush API to analyze a domain's backlink profile, identify toxic links, and find link building opportunities.
## Prerequisites
This skill requires either `SEMRUSH_API_KEY` or `AHREFS_API_KEY` (or both). Check for them in environment variables or in `~/.claude/.env.global`. Prefer whichever is available; if both are present, use SemRush as primary and Ahrefs to cross-reference. If neither is found, inform the user:

mdr add openclaudia/openclaudia-skills/backlink-audit@sha256:d4a8418d716ec407The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260211.07532bb, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
