Pick the right library for a given frontend task from a curated, opinionated list — numbers, OTP inputs, charts, command menus, virtualization, drag and drop, toasts, state, styling, and more. Only runs when explicitly invoked; it does not trigger on its own.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Picking The Right Library <!-- CORE-OVERLAY-START --> ## This repository (Asymmetric-al/core) This lookup skill is explicit-only. Core already chose Base UI and the `base-maia` style in `packages/ui`. Keep `disable-model-invocation: true`. Reconcile this overlay after upstream refreshes before running `bun run skills:sync`. ### Triggers - The user explicitly asks which library to use, or invokes `pick-ui-library`. - Do not auto-route ordinary UI implementation through this skill. ### Workflow 1. Check the relevant `package.json` first. Prefer libraries already installed. 2. Do not churn Base UI / `base-maia` for an upstream pick. 3. If the task is already covered by `packages/ui`, use that shared component. 4. Do not install Zustand. Local state is `useState` / `useReducer`. Shared UI state is React Context. Server state stays on TanStack Query or `@asym/database` collections. 5. Command menus use `@asym/ui` `Command`. OTP fields use `@asym/ui` `InputOTP`. How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
