Set up a registry of skills and agents for a person or a team, from nothing to installed. Use when asked to create, start or set up a registry, share skills with a team, or turn a folder of existing skills into a registry.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Set up a registry A registry is a folder holding `registry.json`, `index.json`, and every artifact under `artifacts/<namespace>/<kind>/<name>/<version>/`, usually kept in a git repository of its own or converted from an existing skills repository. Git installs read the requested ref, or the default branch when none is given. A local folder registry is read as soon as `aireg registry index` runs. Pass `--json` to the CLI and read `data`. Use the choices and authorization the user already supplied. Before creating a repository or pushing, confirm any missing owner, name, visibility or permission. Keep local-only requests local; prepare handover or CI instructions without installing or configuring them unless asked. ## 1. Agree on three things first Ask, unless the user already said: - **Name**: short and lowercase, usually the team or organization. People install with it: `<registry>/<namespace>`. - **Namespaces**: one per team or area, such as `platform` and `data`. One is fine to start. - **Repository**: reuse the existing skills repository for an in-place conversion. For a new repository, agree on its owner, name and visibility. How to install
mdr add atlanai/ai-registry/aireg-new@sha256:f096993bab9a6b42The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261020.92d493b, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
