Writes behavior-driven executable specs (Feature > Scenario > Specification, one assertion per test) from a feature's STORIES.md and PLAN.md, in C# or Lit/TypeScript, using the project's existing test framework. Use when stories are final and it's time to write the tests, or when asked to spec out, write tests first, or do BDD/TDD.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# BDD specs Specs are written before the `builder` subagent implements a task — see "Open question" below if your team wants to relax that. The spec is the design artifact: it encodes the intended behavior from the stories, is marked pending until the code exists, and is `feature-build`'s definition of done for the task. This skill states the discipline once and applies it to whichever layer(s) a feature actually touches — backend (C#), frontend (Lit + TypeScript), or both. The shape (Feature > Scenario > Specification, one assertion, happy-then-sad, pending by default, a real-entry-point spec) is identical either way; only the syntax it's expressed in differs. Don't duplicate this discipline into a second, stack-specific skill — extend the relevant reference file instead. ## *🎯 Why: Design for Change* One assertion per Specification means a failing spec names exactly what broke. Segregating happy path from sad path means you can change one behavior without re-reading the whole suite. The spec suite is the change-budget for the codebase — treat generating it as seriously as generating the code it will gate. ## Gate: require the design and the stories first …

How to install
mdr add mattbrailsford/umbraco-devkit/bdd-specs@sha256:6804f0ae356c0247The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261017.8be9de3, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
