Canonical deep-module vocabulary (module, interface, depth, seam, adapter, leverage, locality) for designing a module's shape — a lot of behaviour behind a small interface at a clean seam, testable through that interface. The single source of truth for these terms; other skills (architecture, codebase-hygiene) point here instead of restating them. Use when designing or improving a module's interface, finding deepening opportunities, deciding where a seam goes, or making code more testable.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. # Codebase Design
Design **deep modules**: a lot of behaviour behind a small interface, placed at a clean seam, testable through that interface. Use this language and these principles wherever code is being designed or restructured. The aim is leverage for callers, locality for maintainers, and testability for everyone.
## Glossary
Use these terms exactly — don't substitute "component," "service," "API," or "boundary." Consistent language is the whole point.
**Module** — anything with an interface and an implementation. Deliberately scale-agnostic: a function, class, package, or tier-spanning slice. _Avoid_: unit, component, service.
**Interface** — everything a caller must know to use the module correctly: the type signature, but also invariants, ordering constraints, error modes, required configuration, and performance characteristics. _Avoid_: API, signature (too narrow — they refer only to the type-level surface).

How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
