continuous-profiling SKILL.md skillA
continuous-profiling from robsonkades/agent-skills is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.

Designing and operating always-on production profiling: question-driven signal choice, permanent overhead and coverage budgets, in-process versus host collection, context-label propagation, profile schemas, storage and cardinality, retention and incident preservation, deploy-aware comparisons, trust boundaries, and evidence-quality SLOs. Use when historical CPU/allocation/lock evidence must survive an incident, when profile cost or tenant labels can grow without bound, when a backend or agent…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Continuous Profiling ## Purpose Continuous profiling moves a bounded set of collection decisions before an incident so that historical code-resource evidence remains queryable afterward. It does not make every future question answerable: the chosen event, interval, context, retention, stack fidelity, and backend schema define the evidence envelope. Treat it as a production telemetry system. It consumes CPU, memory, network, disk, backend compute, and operational attention on every instance; it can expose sensitive code and tenant metadata; and it can fail silently while its dashboard remains available. ## Ownership boundary This skill owns collection architecture, permanent budgets, context dimensions, storage, retention, comparison protocol, security, and operational health. Delegate: - event/engine mechanics to `async-profiler-advanced` and `jfr-advanced`; - one-off collection choice to `jfr-and-async-profiler`; - statistical interpretation and differential graphs to `latency-statistics` and `flame-graph-analysis`; - metric-label economics to `metrics-and-cardinality`; - system-wide eBPF/JIT symbol mechanics to `ebpf-for-jvm`. ## Define the retroactive questions …

How to install
mdr add robsonkades/agent-skills/continuous-profiling@sha256:e3238f47c940d376The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261016.c769bd8, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
