Coarse parametric blockout of the primary masses before committing to detail. Establishes the bounding envelope, canonical-view alignment, and reference-image plane, then confirms the blockout is plausible before detail work begins.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# blockout-model
## Purpose
The blockout pass produces a coarse, parametric approximation of the object's
primary masses. It is not a finished model — it is a testable hypothesis:
"does this bounding envelope match the reference silhouette in all canonical
views?" Only after the blockout is plausible does detail work begin.
## Inputs
- The `// Real Object Brief` from `prepare-prompt/SKILL.md`.
- The reference photo path.
## What to do
### Step 1 — Declare key params
Map each dimension in the brief's Scale section to a `param()`. Use the brief's
estimated value as the default:

All key dimensions must be params, not magic numbers. The blockout must be
adjustable after the first canonical-view check without touching geometry code.

How to install
mdr add w1ne/kernelcad-web/blockout-model@sha256:2895052b25f0bf16The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260520.baa5210, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
