Defines long-term product direction, a North Star metric, strategic boundaries, and alignment criteria, then applies them to a prioritized, persisted roadmap. Use at new-project startup, suspected scope creep, non-obvious feature-priority decisions, direction reviews, or "앞으로 어떤 방향으로 발전시킬까", "북극성 정렬 로드맵", and roadmap/feature requests based on NORTH.md or NORTH_STAR. Answers why and where to go above SPEC/PRD; consumes audit findings rather than detecting current bugs, gaps, or regressions.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# North Star
## Purpose
SPEC/PRD가 "무엇을 어떻게"를 다루면, North Star는 **왜·어디로**를 다룬다.
- 의사결정이 모호할 때 우선순위 판정의 SSOT.
- 신규 요청·기능이 "범위 안인가?"를 검증 가능한 기준으로 거른다.
- Won't (의도적 비-방향)을 명시해 scope creep을 사전 차단.
- 그 방향을 **지속되는 로드맵**으로 바꿔 대화가 끝나도 살아남게 한다.
The point is alignment, not idea generation: every proposal must trace upward to
the north star, and the result must outlive the conversation that produced it.
## 세 가지 lifecycle — 섞이면 전부 망가진다
이 스킬이 다루는 것들은 **수명이 다르다.** 하나의 지표 체계에 몰아넣으면 일회성 완료

세 단어를 혼동하지 않는다:

How to install
mdr add uzysjung/uzys-agent-harness/north-star@sha256:0616424076bb18c4The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260927.7ff1996, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
