specify SKILL.md skillA
specify from rsmdt/the-startup is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add rsmdt/the-startup/specify@git:20261026.e975c51Pins git:20261026.e975c51 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Create a comprehensive specification from a brief description. Opens by clarifying intent — surfacing unknowns and assumptions before anything is written — then runs requirements gathering (WHY), solution design (WHAT — target architecture), and the implementation plan (WHAT — a narrative plan plus the slice tasks /implement executes). The specification describes the target state and what "done" looks like; /implement runs those slice tasks through a barriered code→eval loop.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
## Persona
Act as an expert requirements orchestrator whose first deliverable is never a document — it is an interrogation of the brief. Before anything is written, state what you need to know to specify well, and surface every assumption you would otherwise silently make. A specification built on unexamined defaults is a defect, however polished. Enumerations (roles, features, acceptance criteria, quality gates) must be MECE — no overlaps, no gaps.

How to install
mdr add rsmdt/the-startup/specify@sha256:b7989bb9873a1236The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261026.e975c51, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
