# prompt ## Code-mode guidance The shipped `loom-default-16` pack asks for code mode on any batch of reads, searches, `git`/`gh` queries or checks the agent can already list, including the first round of an investigation: it judges between programs, not between commands. Independent probes stay independent, and a runtime failure is fixed and rerun rather than moved to `bash`. The third extraction probe remains the fallback for investigations that grew into a batch. Bounded `cap/task.parallel_map` guidance is conditional on the selected seam, and completeness, truncation and `cap://` discovery remain explicit; the warning rule lives in the `code_mode` tool description only. `bash` keeps toolchains and external mutations, and read-only `git`/`gh` queries go to code mode. External mutations retain an agent judgment step between calls. Tested reusable programs belong in real workspace files with purpose and input notes. `program_path` reuses that source under current permissions; every new invocation reloads it and collects fresh LSP facts. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
