Enforces Law 5 (Reflect After Every Session) of the 7 Laws of AI Agent Discipline. Compact the current conversation into a handoff document for another agent to pick up. Ported from mattpocock/skills under MIT.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. Save it to a path produced by `mktemp -t handoff-XXXXXX.md` (read the file before you write to it). Suggest the skills to be used, if any, by the next session. Do not duplicate content already captured in other artifacts (PRDs, plans, ADRs, issues, commits, diffs). Reference them by path or URL instead. If the user passed arguments, treat them as a description of what the next session will focus on and tailor the doc accordingly. ## When to fire it - End of a working session that did not finish the task — you want the next agent to pick up cold without re-reading the whole transcript. …

How to install
mdr add naimkatiman/continuous-improvement/handoff@sha256:a15a1e07536b0cb8The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260610.57b1c8e, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
