Explicit color reference for palettes, semantic tokens, format conversion, and contrast. Use only after Core's Zinc semantic tokens. Do not replace the product palette.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Colors <!-- CORE-OVERLAY-START --> ## This repository (Asymmetric-al/core) Color recipes stay subordinate to Core's Zinc-oriented CSS variable tokens. Do not introduce a parallel palette. Keep Core's Base UI, `base-maia` style, Zinc tokens, and `docs/ai/rules/frontend.md` authoritative. Reconcile this overlay after upstream refreshes before running `bun run skills:sync`. ### Triggers - Reviewing contrast, token naming, or palette structure. - Do not generate a new brand palette for existing Core apps. ### Workflow 1. Use existing semantic CSS variables in `packages/ui`. 2. Keep `base-maia` and frontend rulebook contrast/token rules. 3. Do not restyle Core product apps onto an upstream palette. ### Checklist - [ ] Semantic tokens were reused. - [ ] No new hardcoded palette replaced Core theme variables. <!-- CORE-OVERLAY-END --> A color system is a small set of ramps, named by role and verified against the backgrounds they actually render on. Most color bugs are system bugs. A value picked in isolation, a token borrowed because it looked right, a pair nobody measured. …

How to install
mdr add asymmetric-al/core/better-colors@sha256:1a620fb712e9fcc2The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260930.790b0d9, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
