Use when a task needs a tracking file and you must decide where it lives: check whether its subject belongs to a project first, else file it in {agency-root}/tasks/inbox/. On-demand; moved out of CLAUDE.md.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Inbox task management (ownerless tasks only)
Before filing any task tracker, check `{agency-root}/memory/medium-term.md`: does the task's SUBJECT match an existing project? If yes, its tracking file goes in that project's `memory/tasks/` (see `{agency-root}/skills/pd-spawn/SKILL.md` for the delegation-file convention when a PD is spawned), even when the session that filed it has no project of its own. Only genuinely ownerless tasks go to `{agency-root}/tasks/inbox/{ongoing|completed|archived}/{slug}/TASK.md`; format and lifecycle: `{agency-root}/tasks/inbox/index.md`. A task's file follows what it is ABOUT, never the session that filed it.Read the whole file at its exact version.
How to install
mdr add tekkiiiii/the-agency/inbox-tasks@sha256:7683f73c6829ba1bThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261008.f5612c3, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
