# Google Ads Budget Pacing **Tells you whether you'll land on budget, and what to move to make sure you do.** Google Ads has no monthly budget for standard campaigns — the number a client actually cares about lives in a retainer or media plan, outside the platform. So the account can't tell you whether you're on track, and the spend report can't tell you why. The trap underneath it: a campaign underspending because nobody wants the product and one underspending because its budget is throttling real demand look identical in a spend report and need opposite actions. Recommending more money for the first is the classic pacing mistake. **What you get back** - **Where you are** — spend to date against where flat pacing would have put you, anchored to the last complete day. - **Where you're heading** — two projections, linear and trailing, with the one to trust named. When they disagree, that's a finding: something changed mid-period, and you get the date. - **The daily spend required to land on budget**, and how big a change that is from the current rate. - **Over- and under-pacing per campaign**, sorted by the size of the gap in money. …
