Define aligned domain, data, API, and interface contracts without exposing internal storage as the public boundary.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
## OBJECTIVE Produce or update the system's architecture contract as one coherent decision: - the internal domain and data model, when the system owns state; - the external and in-process interface contracts, when callers cross a boundary; - the explicit mapping between internal entities and boundary DTOs; and - the matching `## Data and State` and `## Interfaces and Contracts` sections of `docs/architecture.md`. Do not invent persistence, endpoints, transports, or versioning that the concept and architecture do not require. Mark a track `NOT_APPLICABLE` with evidence when the system genuinely has no owned state or no callable boundary. Report `RESEARCH_REQUIRED` when a required decision lacks evidence. ## DECISION STANDARD Treat this as one contract with two distinct views: - **Domain and data** describe the system's internal truth: entities, relationships, invariants, ownership, storage, and lifecycle. - **Interfaces** describe promises made across boundaries: operations, inputs, outputs, errors, authorization, compatibility, and retry behavior. …

How to install
mdr add lyther/agent-surface/arch-contract@sha256:190ffacae23b79fdThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260806.146d8e8, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
