Find how real, shipped apps solve a given screen or flow, so the design starts from patterns people actually use instead of the AI's average guess. Searches Mobbin when it is connected, otherwise works from the user's own screenshots and App Store listing screenshots. Gives the 3 best patterns in chat, each linked to the real screen and marked seen or unconfirmed, and saves a dated reference card in the project. Use before designing or rebuilding a screen, or when the user asks…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Reference hunt You already know what screen or flow to build. This finds the best real versions of it before any code is written. It is not a market survey and not a list of ideas. The output is a few concrete patterns from real screens, and one recommendation. ## The one rule **Only describe a screen someone has actually seen.** Seen means one of: - a Mobbin screen or flow opened in this session, - a screenshot the user sent, - an App Store or Google Play listing screenshot opened in this session. Never describe another app's UI from a blog post, a review, a help page, a teardown article or memory. Those are often years old, and a user can lose hours hunting for a screen that no longer looks like that. A blog post can be a lead for where to look. It is never the evidence. Mark every pattern **seen on a screen** or **unconfirmed**. Unconfirmed means the idea came from somewhere other than a screen you opened; say where, and suggest how to see it (search Mobbin for it, or ask the user to screenshot it). ## Input One sentence on what to find. Examples: "a paywall for a monthly subscription", "the empty state of a list before anything is added", "a streak that is about to …

How to install
mdr add namedtoaster/the-last-mile/reference-hunt@sha256:4b8ece2a67aa73f4The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261011.023ac29, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
