Use when changing React concurrent rendering, Server Components, actions, hooks or re-render behavior. Not for Next.js routing and caching or React Hook Form field validation.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# React 19 Best Practices
Comprehensive performance optimization guide for React 19 applications. Contains 40 rules across 8 categories, prioritized by impact from critical (concurrent rendering, server components) to incremental (component patterns).
## Table of Contents
1. [Concurrent Rendering](references/_sections.md#1-concurrent-rendering) — **CRITICAL**
- 1.1 [Avoid Suspense Fallback Thrashing](references/conc-suspense-fallback.md) — HIGH (prevents flickering, smoother UX)
- 1.2 [Leverage Automatic Batching for Fewer Renders](references/conc-automatic-batching.md) — HIGH (32% fewer renders in heavy updates)
- 1.3 [Use useDeferredValue for Derived Expensive Values](references/conc-use-deferred-value.md) — CRITICAL (prevents jank in derived computations)
- 1.4 [Use useTransition for Non-Blocking Updates](references/conc-use-transition.md) — CRITICAL (keeps UI responsive during heavy updates)
- 1.5 [Write Concurrent-Safe Components](references/conc-concurrent-safe.md) — MEDIUM-HIGH (prevents bugs in concurrent rendering)
2. [Server Components](references/_sections.md#2-server-components) — **CRITICAL**

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261026.fc845e3, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
A 17 of 17 checks passed. Fixed automatic checks with no AI involved, so the same checks give the same answer every run.
